About Orange Lake Resort - The Legends (Kissimmee, FL)
Opened in 1998 as a tribute to golf legend Arnold Palmer and hotel business magnate Kemmons Wilson, Orange Lake's Legends has quickly become one of Orlando's most popular courses. Laid out by Palmer Course Design, the course provides two distinct nine-hole layouts. The front side has been named The Links Nine for its open feel, which reminds one of playing the great links of Scotland and Ireland. The back nine, or The Pines, has tight, tree-lined fairways similar to the great American layouts in the Pinehurst area of North Carolina. Combined, the course provides an extremely entertaining and challenging round of golf, with water bordering on just 10 holes. How about 36 holes? Sister course, the Reserve, is just 5 minutes away! Some of the holes were in great shape others almost seemed neglected. Playing here again is a toss-up. We came in past the other course at Orange Lake. Surprised at the overall conditions considering it has Arnold Palmer affiliation.

This is a great course in all aspects. I loved the fact that they even overseeded the rough so if you were off the fairway, you had to allow for the deeper grass. The only thing that I thought was a joke was the "no cash rule" You buy a 5 dollar hotdog and you have to dig out your credit card. Other than that, it was terrific,

The best course of the 5 we played by far! The staff was exceptional and the starter took great care in pairing our group and giving us quality instruction. The only real drawback was the pace of play..it does get a lot of resort play so we were about a 1/2 hour off pace. The greens/fairways and overall condition was excellent. They pay attention to the details and it was our final tournament course....just right!

It was a very nice course and kept in very good condition. There was a small mixup after our round. The voucher showed that we had unlimited golf that day but the staff member in the proshop didn't believe us because our paperwork had already been cleared out earlier in the afternoon. It got cleared up and we squeezed in another 9 holes. I didn't like the fact that the clubhouse didn't take cash.
