About Diamondback Golf Club (Haines City, FL)
Located 25 minutes southwest of the Disney area in Haines City, Diamondback is one of Joe Lee's most memorable Florida layouts. The course was carved from 240 acres of virgin forest and offers dramatically rolling fairways bordered by dense trees, natural wetlands, and well-positioned water hazards (water comes into play on just 5 holes). This naturally scenic layout is a real gem of a site; its varied geographical location includes natural swamp areas and high, sandy hills that run through a non-residential environment (no homes!) which is very unique to the Central Florida area, creating a very peaceful round of golf. Always in excellent shape, the course has just recently been rated 4.5 stars by Golf Digest's "Best Places to Play."

The course was in great shape for the hot weather they'd recently had. The staff was courteous and friendly. And helped us with anything we needed. The pro shop was great along with the club house. The range and putting green was in great shape. The pace was our own, no one pushed and no one in front of us. Great course, one of the better ones played on the trip.

Three of our foursome thought the first three holes were rather tight compared to the rest of the course. Part of the problem may have been the first hole which is challenging when it is the first time playing. I personnally like the course. Those three would return but I would.

Great course but they were running late due to some sort of member preferred tee times? We had no knowledge of it in advance but the speedy play and great conditions made up for it. The Clubhouse was less than desirable and the decal on the golf cart made you feel that they have spent all the money on the golf course...where they should! If you are looking for a fancy clubhouse with ok golf, don't play here. If you want great golf (tough tee shots, targeted landing areas, true greens) with little to do with the clubhouse, this is the place for you. This was our favorite golf course during our entire 7 round trip. If we make it back this way, we are playing here again!

Lack of a course guidebook made it very difficult, especially for the first few holes, which are challenging, with many blind approaches. Club House is old and should be replaced.

Good layout, fairways & greens were a little inconsistent! First four or five holes are very tight! Diamondback is very different than most courses around Orlando, a very nice change! I would play Diamondback again. There are several holes where target golf comes into play! Diffently not a grip n rip golf course!

We've played this course a number of times over the years and finally give up. There are too many holes where the "smart play" would be a mid iron, until you reach the green, because of a lack of understanding of distances due to inadequate course marking or GPS. Additionally, hazards that line tight fairways unfairly penalize a shot that's a few feet off the fairway
